It has long been recognised that the Scandinavians are world leaders in the manufacture of low cost, low energy, low maintenance housing. In the hard winters of the north, the houses need to be warm in the winter yet cool in the summer, well constructed and pleasant to live in. This describes exactly the criteria by which Hedalm Anebyhus homes are designed and supplied.

Hedalm Anebyhus supply houses that utilise to the full, the Hedalm Anebyhus building system, a unique blend of natural wood and modern technology.
Hedalm Anebyhus use only the best Norwegian Spruce and Pine that has grown over 90 years. Our houses are manufactured in a modern factory to a very high level of precision and a very high degree of specification.

Norwegian eco houses a success in Midlands
Nearly a year after Home Secretary Jacqui Smith officially opened a development of 36 pre-fabricated and environmentally friendly Norwegian-built timber houses in Redditch outside Birmingham, the local press, residents and council have branded the project as a great success.

Living here changed my life for the better
Last summer a development of eco homes was created in a suburb of Redditch. They made UK history as the homes promised to be fully sustainable, to minimise waste and to meet the highest eco standards.

We saw home built from scratch
Redditch resident Anne Harborne flew hundreds of miles to watch her home being built from scratch.

Who is involved with the project?
The eco homes were developed by Accord Housing Association for Redditch Co-operative Homes in partnership with Norwegian company Hedalm Anebyhus, Redditch Borough Council and with Housing Corporation funding.

Eco-Warriors
In a world that is becoming increasingly aware of the importance of minimising environmental impact, it is Scandinavia, a region steeped in tradition, which Europe is looking to in order to learn how to develop low cost, low energy housing.

Minister praises co-operative housing model
Housing Minister Caroline Flint, hailed co-operative housing as a model for the safe and sustainable neighbourhoods of the future.
